No its not quite as good a deal as the Giant from the skip, but nearly. I don't think I'll be doing 141 C2C in one day on this one ;)

1988 Rockhopper - 650b Conversion

Hey all, I wanted to share my latest project.

Bought a decrepit '88 Rockhopper for $40 and upgraded components to a Shimano 105 drivetrain and alloy 650b wheelset.
Currently setup 1x11 with 36T Biopace chainring driving an 11-40T cassette.
Rear derailleur has capacity to go 2x, with 36T and 46T chainrings. (Shimano R7000 Mid Cage Rear Derailluer)
Running 42mm Specialized Sawtooth Tubeless Tires
Bike weighs in at 26lbs :?
Great commuter and amateur bikepacking rig!
Total cost of conversion ~ $500

Nice bike and stunning backdrop. It might be the angle of the pic but I think your handlebars need tilting forward a bit.
