Yes, and quite genius to me. Usually you really fight to keep single pivot sidepulls from rubbing on one side. Once you set these up they stay centered just fine.

Wow, I had a Kuwahara Pacer hybrid in the 90s, but I never realised that they also made pure road bikes.

Kuwahara made bikes under the Apollo brand name in Canada during the 70's and 80's. They were very popular and the Apollo 10 speed was ubiquitous during my childhood until the exchange rate made Japanese manufactured bikes less attractive. The sold their bikes under the Kuwahara brand for a few years after - I think the movie ET gave them a boost. Can't recall when they stopped selling here.
