10 sp cassette on 9sp hub and derailleur shifter questions

Just one more thing - out of curiosity, sound a shimano LH shifter work with a 2 or 3 speed Campag front mech?

Has anyone ever used two different types of shifter on the same bike?
ie a rapid fire for the RM and a friction thumbie for the front?

Yes...for years. I hate rapid fire front...its the lack of trim. So 8 speed rapid fire rear with thumbie front. Its not pretty, but it works a treat.
