been trying to build this for ages , been down the period correct route
ans it wasn't happening ,the idea being a black build to counter the
polished one i already have , black painted mag21's and black lx and syncros parts
never got there always thought i didn't look right
so a few weeksa ago i bought a (meriln) rock lobster fitted with
mxc's and juciy 5's along with sram drivetrain stuff ,i only bought it to help
a mate out
so (stay with me it makes sence) i bought a 656 proflex frame last week
and thought i'd build it with the lobster parts ,only the elastomers are
dead so until i get some new ones thats on hold
so the rts with the lobster bits it is then
so spec as of today is
93 GT rts frame , the us built one with the flat end cap as per a zaskar
marz mcx 80mm travel forks
xt 4 pot front brake
alex commencal front wheel
orange supercross bars
easton stem
kona seat post
sdg bel-air seat
lx 4 bolt chainset
sram x-9 mech and shifter
no front mech/shifter (yet)
lx /max (?) rear wheel

the tyres are going as is the stem and bars and possibly the seat post

hi mikee how you doing?
always fancied one of these but i dont get on with single pivots (pingers) with the pivot point beeing half way up the seatstay does it work like the "atlas" type rear ends ,how does she ride ?
Lee

it rides like a hard tail to tell the truth ,in that it dosent feel like a full suss
but it softens the ride
must admit i prefer a single pivot design like a super vee
and i like the i-drive bikes too

try one you might like it

my other one looks a lot nicer

:) Mikee do the i drive ride better than these?.

Just about finished my first full build

1995 S-Works Specialized FSR so looking forward to my first full sup experience.

Passiflora :)

i think they do ,but thats progress
the thing is full suss bikes are a bit marmite
some like your early fsr and others are really fun to ride
the first gen epics are good too
i dont have a modern full suss bike (carbon h/t tho ) as i find them
detached from the riding experience
tho, granted they are very fast ,the i drive is a gen on i think and heading to the efficent modern bikes ,very fast but thats what they do
they dont for me involve you with the trails
returning to the RTS its a nice bike to ride
still prefer a hard tail tho
might be a seperate thread in this tho
do like early f/s bikes too
