i think it was 1 tonne of seawater, from memory.
quite a few urban myths surrounding the kirk frames, like major flexing and frame cracking etc.
they don't suffer from either, but the major issue was failure of the bonding where alloy shims were inserted into the head-tube, seat-tube and bottom bracket.
