Seems logical to me.

I like to keep my bike nice but I don't ride around with foam lagging on my frame tubes.

Daytime or night-time they're pointless. Like helmets. Just another stick for the safety police to hit us with.

Streetlights can f**k right off, I'd rather see the stars. I live half a mile from the nearest lamp-post, which is still too near for my liking.
I really should invest in some proper lights before winter; something tells me my Poundland LEDs won't illuminate too much tarmac...
