KHS is an american bike brand. Concerning the frame; no Specialized imo, fastback design wasn´t on their shelf back in those days.

I will get back to your questions on Monday, that's when I get back from holidays. Including serial number and so on.

But yes, the frame is 1 1/8"!

but then that fastback and the seat tube collar is very fisher-esque but its no fisher thats for sure
 
Frame looks late 80's/early 90's, not Rocky Mountain as they use cable stops for the rear canti not the noodle shown.

Maybe not something USA badged, maybe European.........
 
In the archives there is a Panasonic MC5500 in the 1993 catalogue with similar looking cable routing, noodle and frame construction but again not fully there..........
