Putting DVD films onto iPod.

Ive heard something about a program you can download that allows you to put your own DVD's onto an iPod as iTunes rip you off at £7-8 a film,has anyone used this and is it idiot proof please?

There are several freeware versions available. You need plenty of memory to run them as MPEG-4 compression is fairly heavy lifting for a PC.

A couple of my friends use handbrake. I haven't used it myself but apparently it does the trick?

Yes Handbrake is the one i heard about,anyone use it,simple to set up?
