Bianchi Martini Racing Titanio Team 1997

Re:

Well a couple of updates to this long winded build
Got some nice FRM Airway forks 1200g with removable disk mount
And two black/silver FRM Webstems
110mm and 90mm
I decided to install the 90 for a more upright and less racey ride
Here are a couple of snaps with the New forks and Silver Webstem
And one with the black 90mm stem.

The steerer is quite Long and needs cutting to size so temporarily added a silver spacer

I’ve also got this new lightweight Chainset to go on.

I reckon I could hit 20 lbs weight as this stuff is light

Re:

Don't worry about the long winded build, I am really guilty of that crime too. But bit by bit this is really coming together and is going to turn out to be something really special  so keep at it.

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini Racing Megatube

Coming along nicely.

I am a fan of black finishing kit so looking forward to seeing the cranks on. You may have to change the seat post out to a black one then though :)

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini Racing Megatube

Slight update
Will finish tomorrow then give it a clean and wax to make it glow
The Ritchey WCS Pro champagne seat post matches the bars and hub
I’ve a black FRM seatpost I will try!

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini Racing Megatube

Here we are - next step of the transformation.
Replaced the XTR M960 rear mech with a new Sachs Mars 9.000 to match the Sachs Quarz up front
Keeping the M970 shifters as I really like them in all respects

Steerer tube shortened and replaced the cable inners
Need to set up the brakes - gears - spit and polish and then take her out for a spin

UPDATE
Set up the brakes and mechs a bit of polish and went for a spin.
Wonderful to ride - tyres roll nicely - mechs both excellent - slick shifting combining the M970 shifters with the Sachs Quarz front and Mars 9000 Rear - which I must admit looks and feels superb! A step up in quality from the M960 and M950 - reminds me of the M900 in many ways.
Very light and responsive - extremely happy with the Air Way forks and the cranks too -
I think am pretty happy with this - if there’s anything I’d change it would be likely Avid Ultimate V’s and Levers or Extralite or similar high end.
Source some Ritchey WCS Logic Pro bar ends with logos intact. A higher end Cassette and dust caps for the Pedals - of course, a couple of missing Decals for the frame seat tube - And that’s about it.

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini FRM Ritchey WCS

Lovely set up. I just contacted someone through a french announcement site for that particular mars 9000 derailleur. I'm guessing you went through the same person? Good derailleur?. I like the frm components. Been wondering wether they ever made vbrakes and levers. I know they made those pre vbrake styled cantis but haven't found anything there after.

Thanks
I’ve bought a set of Avid Ultimate black ops for this - so will fit soon!

I’ll upload a FRM catalogue shortly - they did V Brakes and very nice ones too! Some sold here a while back

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini FRM Ritchey WCS

 a lot neater now, and looking good with the crankset on. Is it just 2spd? how is that working out for you? also the front mech could go lower as it looks high over the rings.

I really like the front on shot too, showing the taper in the forks and the profile of the frames downtube. And those Avid Black-ops will go really well with the build, very nice

I bought the mech from here recently - from Philipe. I believe he has another
It was €90 inc delivery NOS and really classy and nice!

Thanks man!
2 speed is working out very well as I usually stick to the middle ring- and haven’t really noticed much
Yes- I didn’t move it adjust the front mech since replacing the 3 speed. So need to adjust it as the chain rubs against the mech when on lowest toothed highest gear rear cog. I think I may need to shorten the chain my a link too.

I’m really liking it - so very light - was under 20 lbs with the barro race tyres and around 20 lbs now with the Mythos XC
