126mm and 130mm

question to the informed, if i have a 130mm rear spacing, how can i run a 6?7 speed 126mm, i dont suppose i can cold set in to close it up, but could i have a six speed hub put on a wider spaced axle?Am i being naive, or is there a way?

If it's a steel frame you should be able to just tighten the nuts up to pull the rears in and it'll give you no problems. 4mm isn't much. Obviously, if it's a carbon frame don't do this...

just use washers if the axle is long enough.
