What Would You Do ?

If you were getting a frame re painted that had lugs on for a rack mount that you had never used in 18 years – would you have them removed for a sleek look or leave them on for originality ?

I am 99% sure I know what I am going to do but was interested in general opinion … :D

You can guarantee that in 6 months time you'll think of a new use for the bike that involves fitting a rack. Keep 'em :)

I have respect for the original designer. I might add (say a V-brake stop), but I wouldn't take anything off.

And there's also foresight - you can take off the hanger and gear cable stops because a frame is going to be a singlespeed, then you get injured and you can't do singlespeed any longer, or you need to sell the frame. Leave well alone.

ON

Yeah I agree ON
You never know what the future holds and they werent a problem before.
My two cents worth ;)

Considering the hassle I'm having fitting a rack to my commuter, I'd say leave them on......you never know.
