Newbie / Fat Yo-Eddy build

Retro Newbie
Hi guys, just joined up to this mega useful site due to been the proud owner of a Yo Eddy frame. Already own a couple of ageing steeds ; 1988 wicked, 1988/9 cinder cone, early Orange Clockwork and a 93 Zaskar which I had a bit of success racing in the 90's.
Anyway back to the point of this, the frame is currently being restored at a paint specialist and I'm looking for parts for the build...in particular forks and bottom bracket. Do you guys know of anything kicking around which would get me started?? All posts on here seem to be uber helpful so I thought I'd start off here.

Thanks in advance!!

What type of bottom bracket is it, screw in or press fit and what she'll width/ axel length do you need?

I have a one ride only Shimano XT bb that I could part with depending on it fitting your needs, it was being used with Cookbros cranks.

Re:

Are you thinking about suspension forks or rigid? Oh and get some pics up when you get it back, who is painting it btw?

Re:

It's a press-fit bb, not sure about length needed - was hoping someone here would know!? Not sure about cranks to be used atm. But they will be period and the best I can find.
I'm hoping (praying) to find some rigid fat chance forks, but again if they're not gonna be easy to find (yeh I know!) I'll go for maybe rigid pace or the best I can find period suspension. But in 1991 suspension was in it's infancy and not a vast amount of choice! So again, all up in the air at the mo....!
Paint wise, it's gone to a place near York who has always done work for me who are extremely good; jorvic engineers in wigginton...

Re:

Just curious, but why are you painting the frame before you have a fork?

Shouldn't they be painted at the same time?

Re:

Welcome! This site should be a great source of information but don't forget it's sister site:

http://www.fatcogs.com/forum/

This site is dedicated to nothing but Fat Chance bikes, so you'll be able to get some seriously dedicated info from the guys on there also.

Forkwise, I would go for something like an igleheart fork. Chris Igleheart was one of the Fat chance builders who made the yo eddy fork and still makes a version specifically for fat chance restorations today. Not cheap but bloody nice!
