Zinn from ebay with issue's, but hey, still sweet!

Re: Zinn on ebay

You have to wait a certain amount of time before you can, to allow for an amicable solution. Raise one and it will tell you how long you have to wait. They will see your messages to the seller in trying to resolve this so keep it polite. Take pictures of all the dodgy bits. Be specific in a message to him about the areas that are not as described, if you haven't already. I'd suggest waiting to see what he comes up with money wise before you suggest anything.
Open and shut case but ebay will always come down on the buyers side if in doubt.

Nail him. PM me if you too.

Also make reference to the dent not appearing in any of the photos even if you blew the up. Blatantly skull duggery.

Re: Zinn on ebay

Lots of good advice here on how to proceed. My learning is to ask sellers more specific questions regarding condition when contemplating purchasing expensive 2nd bikes. At least then you get an answer, or evidence of a dishonest seller.

Re: Zinn on ebay

I jus hope you get it sorted as quickly as you can and that you can enjoy the bike in all it's glory!

No you don't . You can raise one straight away, though that's not the ideal way to go about things. If you can't reach an amicable solution between yourselves, or the seller refuses to discuss it, then that is the time to raise a dispute.

NB. I've been thinking; the only disputes I've ever had to raise on Ebay have been wimmins selling bike bits...
Be warned!

Re: Zinn on ebay

should the name of this thread be changed now ?
as its no longer on ebay.

hope the buyer comes to an amicable arrangement with the seller.
bad form i think to neglect the dent.
good luck, whatever happens.

just glad i never bought this.
i'd never have doubled my money now.

No word from the seller yet. How long should I wait before raising an Ebay dispute?
I know my preferred option with this, but won’t say before a resolution with the seller.

24 Hours is sufficient time to respond to complaint. If you haven't heard within 24 hours raise a dispute. Then the timescales will be dictated by the process. If your first contact was via the ebay messaging service then it will be logged that you tried to contact the seller before raising a dispute. This will work in your favour.

You have your preferred option, but my opinion is that you have been sold a very tired looking, and damaged frame with worn out components. This does not fit the description and you are entitled to a full refund. If you accept any less than a full refund (including postage costs both ways) then you are letting the seller off in a big way. If that means you get £800 back then the seller is still getting off lightly.

Value is subjective, and if sinnerman thinks this is still worth £900 then perhaps he may like to make you an offer, but you should not be held liable for a mis-sold item.

I hope you get a suitable solution. I for one have logged the name of the seller.

If it was the same size as the one i have, believe me i wouldnt hesitate, with that said im more than happy to buy the components, if the seller can resolve his issue to his liking and feels himself the components are too far gone to use.

Fair play, if you value it that highly. I was just trying to illustrate that the buyer is entitled to a full refund regardless of the value others may place on it.

I'd be interested to see what it would fetch if it was re-listed with an honest description and photos. :?:

I just hope the seller is reasonable, and the new owner gets to keep his dream bike, i honestly dont feel any of it is the end of the world to put right, but thats not the point when misdescribed.
