zaskar 1996 in yellow....is it???

97 (first year with gusset under downtube) Zaskar was available as
Zaskar LE (with XTR bits) Ball Burnished or Ano Light Blue
Zaskar (with XT) Ball burnished and Red Ano.

As far as I know the difference between LE and non was purely
components (XTR on LE as opposed to XT).
The frame only I believe just said Zaskar but I'm by no means an expert.

No, the '96 model was the first with the downtube gusset. I bought mine in autumn '95.

I'm going on the catalogue pix so my timing might be off.

96 catalogue show the early Zaskar style gusset under top tube.
(this is 95 cat cos I don't have a good scan of 96)

97 shows newer style under downtube.

update, guy has cancelled my bid, taken frame off ebay, he is stripping and polishing and relisting he says..so lets see what condition its in when the paints off... :roll:

I think I've had a couple of bids cancelled when auctions are nearing the end by him. Strangely enough I was the only bidder and heading for a bargain. :x

Ye a bit naughty,not the way to run an ebay business... im glad he did it really because its back on partially stripped, he has now found 3 dings, where before there was none and it needs wet n dry and polishing apparently, so i will not be bidding again....starting bid £80 buy-it-now £170

Oh and is it my eyes or does the seat tube at the top where clamp goes look bent back?? :?

he does have a bit of a bad rep here already, oooh and not that im one for gossip mind, but some say he is a banned member, oooh

anyway, he always comes up in my searches and i wont buy off him out of principal, his prices are silly too i think

bide your time, i got my zaskar full bike which under the tat age and grime had some lovely bits and a dint free frame last year for £110

and i watched a few others go for that too, keep em peeeled, lots get listed as GT with dodgy pics,and then we can all play, is it isnt it, and you can get a bargain
