Your Favorite Music Lyrics - Please Post Them

well you're my friend
(it's what you told me)
and can you see
(what's inside of me)
many times
we've been out drinking
and many times
we've shared our thoughts
but did you ever, ever notice
the kind of thoughts I got
well you know I have a love
a love for everyone I know
and you know I have a drive
to live I won't let go
but can you see its opposition
comes a-rising up sometimes
that it's dreadful and position
comes blacking in my mind

Bonnie Prince Billy - I see a darkness

Morning all,

Having too much time on my hands when waiting to taxi my daughter to and from her various social engagements, i was thinking ... there are some songs which have not featured on this thread which i would rate quite highly. Maybe my taste is too mainstream sometimes -

1. There is a house in New Orleans (Eric Burdon and the Animals)
2. There's a lady who knows all that glitters is gold .... (Led Zep! - nuff said LOL)
3. If i leave here tomorrow .... (Lynyrd Skynyrd - nuff said) AND 'Big wheels keep on turning' (Sweet Home)
4. Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you - Oasis Wonderwall
5. Come as you are... Nirvana

Is this a shameless bump on my part? Perhaps, but how come the above have been missed? Are they not as good as i think they are?

Of course, I will have to check by listening to them - any excuse!!

Richard

This really is shameless -

On the floating, shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang, Sail to me, sail to me

Let me enfold you,
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you"

I have your last, on vinyl. Great sound, Lyrics were maybe not so memorable.

My loft is an Aladdin's cave of antiquity.

How do you end up with three copies of 'Face Value'? One was enough for me and the girlfriend of an evening...... and a bit of suzanne vega.

Morning.

I completed moving all my CD's onto my iPod and i now have about 800 CD's heading to the attic to join my vinyl. Coincidently, I had Ms Vega on this morning - hard to beat. I only have one copy of Face Value though. It is funny to go through CD's which i have not looked at in ages.

There does come a point where you can overdo it, i spend more time looking at sings than listening to them!

How can you lay there and think of England when you don't even know who is in the team :?: :!: :!: Billy Bragg (Greetings to the new brunette)

Genius :D

Moving slightly off topic - good songs with England in the title -

This Is England (the Clash)
A New England (Kirsty McColl)
England (Angelic Upstarts)

All good songs and good lyrics too - if i had the time to type them!
