Seriously???

Ride??

I just cannot find the motivation or enthusiasm to go out and ride any bicycle be it new or old...

I'm about to try though, exploring a potential commuting route.

I get this from time to time. I usually find a the purchase of a new (to me) bicycle usually solves this :D

wait till the sun comes up in the morning and stays round longer on evenings and you can ride short sleeves and shorts on the orange. Then it'll be fun. Other than the sunday clubrun I dont go out either this timne of year

An old friend of mine used to say "The hardest part of riding a bicycle is getting your leg over the top tube".

I agree.

But that's only because my back went ping a couple of days ago. My city bike is stuck in work as I can't face trying to pedal.

I just got home from a few hours in the forest and, even though the snow was only a few inches deep, I left the bike in the wagon and just took the dogs. Just could not be arsed. Besides, I have to keep the big guy on the lead wherever there might be other dogs, and even though he is damn good on the lead on snow it is easy to get tugged off.

It is good cycling weather, but when you are not in the mood you are not in the mood.

Different story when I was commuting to work.

No matter how I felt, by the time I was half way I was always having a blast. You ride through the ambivalence.

I have a 25mile round trip commute on bridle paths and country lanes mainly. I ride every day come rain shine or 18inches of snow. It's brilliant! Sets me up for a day's work in the morning and in the evening I go through the trials and tribulations of the day and get my head straight and am relaxed by the time I get home with the evening my own. Seeing the rabbits, pheasants, deer and even a peacock on occasions (seriously) lifts the spirits.

The doctor's banned me from riding for a couple of weeks and it damned near drove me potty getting a lift in.
