Yodel.......

Don't even get me started!
I had the same issue with an item left on the front door step, despite instructions clearly given to leave round the back! I even rang them and asked them to read back my instructions, which they confirmed said "round the back"! Mumbled response to my question as to why the driver had completely ignored the instructions.

Also, the depot is about 2 miles from my house - I took a parcel there and asked if I could send it from there.
"No, you'll have to go online or ring and arrange for a driver to pick the parcel up" ie wait in all day to see if the numpty turns up!

Surprised they're still in business!!!

I had a similar experience buying from here.

The seller used parcel2go and Yodel.

The bike was 'delivered' when I was at work, almost 100 miles away. God knows where they delivered it, but it wasn't here.

Yodel refused to deal with me, as I didn't book it.

Parcel2Go refused to deal with it as I didn't book it.

Police not interested as its a 'civil matter'.

Paypal refused my refund as a signature had been obtained. It didn't matter it wasn't my name.

Seller was less than helpful, telling me I'd get a refund 'if and when' he got one from the couriers. He didn't seem to interested in chasing them though, I'm not sure he insured it fully, so if I had waited for him I may not of got all, or indeed any, of my money back.

In the end I did a chargeback from my bank, but even this might be reversed yet.

I won't buy from anyone who uses them now.

use send it now drop off at the post office yourself, cheaper and you have the convenience that you can drop off when it's easiest for you and not have to wait for a chimp all day.

Carl.

I never use the "big boys" for couriering. I use a small, local firm, who have always surpassed my expectations. Far better to deal with than the faceless likes of TNT.

You're assuming that I live close enough to a local post office to be able to do that (which I don't considering I'd be walking huge bike boxes up there), and that I have access to a car to be able to take the bike box there (which I don't) ;)

My girlfriend gives me a lift into the office in the morning - if I've got any big boxes, they go in the car and then sit in the office waiting for the courier to come to pick them up. Waiting for a courier to collect them is my only option... I just need to find a better courier than Yokel(sp) !

I might actually give that a go. I think there's a local courier firm down the other end of town.. I'll give them a ring to see if they'll collect or whether I have to take it down to them..

I use a little firm in Bridgend, who will pick up parcels without me in attendance if needed. All done on trust, and they have never failed. They have picked up and delivered a Litespeed from mine, and got it to Hungary within 28hrs for £20. Also, a (very heavy) Sonor Designer drumkit to Spain in 24hrs for £45.

Can you pm me with the details? I wonder if they'll pick up from Penarth?

i pay nearly double what they ask to send stuff with city link. at least it gets there on time

When I buy stuff from wiggle and it goes via Royal Mail the box always turns up in pristine condition. When they send stuff via city link the box always turns up looking a bit battered. I've had city link card put through my door saying the package was delivered to.... some illegible number, which resulted in me knocking on doors up and down my road. There was no info on the website, it just said delivered. Eventually I found out it was back at the sorting office and they were going to send it back to wiggle as I hadnt collected it. Once they delivered my parcell to my neighbour but put nothing through my door to tell me, so for a week I was wondering where it was. To be fair though that time it said where they had delivered it too on the website. Also a few times I've requested that it not be redelivered so I could collect it only to drive over 10 miles to their sorting office to find it's out on their wagon for re-delivery. I had some sucess for a while when I would ask then to put it in my small unlocked box/shed and they would. These days though that instruction doesn't seem to get through to the driver.
