I recently picked up a Fat fork that you might have seen on eBay and I'm trying to determine the model and vintage...

I think it's a Yo fork, but here's some details, see what you think...

It's 410mm A-C. legs are 1 1/8" with campag dropouts and threaded steerer. It's got tear drop stress tabs and finished in original metallic purple..

What do we think?

Is it a Yo fork or BOI? Tricky question. At that length it should be a BOI, but that's the wider Yo Eddy leg diameter.

410mm is the first suspension corrected BOI length on, for instance, on my '93 Somerville Yo Eddy. I imagine '94 would be the same. I'm not sure when the next length extension would be for Serotta/NY-era Fats. The '92 Yo Eddy I had was made for the shorter 394mm length, but I suppose your fork could be from a very late '92 bike.

Also, the Campy dropouts were more common in 90-91-92 than afterward, in my experience.

Yo/BOI

As far as is it a Yo or BOI fork is concerned the clue is in the name. Big one inch = 1 inch dia legs. Yo's are 1 1/8".

The length is a bit strange though. My BOI is 405mm A-C and as I understand it the Yo was normally 395mm.

Custom fork for the larger gentleman with a 93/94 frame?

What is the steerer threaded or Ahead and how long (ie did it come off a large frame)?

Not a simple one eh?

I'm erring on the side of it being a later Yo fork, maybe 93/93 just before the BOI materialised.

One thing I do know for sure it's it's an awesome fork. I can't believe I stumbled upon it..

Here it is.. Sat on the front of my Wicked as a colour test...
