It would be well funny if the winner bolted them on his showbike, then pootled around the block, only to scuff one on the kerb. That'll knock at least 50 quid of the value

Yes, that's expensive.
But they cost £200 when new in 1984. So, in relative terms, I'd say they were cheaper now.
