XT M750 Freehub Slipping Underload

Are you absolutely sure it's the freehub slipping and not just the chain skipping? If you have jsut chnaged the chain then it's more likely a worn cassette.

Usually when freehub bodies die the first symptom is that they don't freewheel as the bearings rust up.

Re:

Indeed, if the 'slipping' is accompanied by a load crack then it is probably the freehub body as the pawls don't engage on the ratchet ring. The pedals rotate forwards until the freehub re-engages, normally within about an eighth of a pedal stroke

If it's only 'slipping' in certain gears under full or partial load then as Hamster says it's more likely a worn cassette with a newer chain.

If it is indeed the freehub, then one indication of wear is if you can feel side to side play in the cassette (assuming the cassette lockring is properly tightened). Another sign is if the freehub makes a rumbling noise when the freewheeling.

Freehub bodies can be serviced if the the grease has dried our or become contaminated with a Freehub Buddy made by Morningstar Tools.
No good if the bearings and/or ratchet is worn out though.

The cassette and chain wear fitted at the same time and have done just under 1000 miles so hopefully they've bedded in nicely together and still have plenty of life left in them.
