After a fair bit of browsing and a couple of edits I'm now fairly certain-ish that the derailleur is an early suntour cyclone. The clues that led me their are in that wonderful heart shape and overall finish and "MAEDA IND. JAPAN VIA B1" inscribed on the rear parallelogram plate. Dunno which year though...
I'll clean up the front and maybe that'll help to solve this little puzzle...

It's probably BI. That's your date code - B = 1985, I = Sept.

Re:

I saw this last week but only just finished reading all the back threads/articles/web links etc! What a great project; I’m jealous! Personally, I’d be sorely tempted to get some braze-on’s put on to the forks for some Salsa anything cages and get an Alpkit frame bag made and go bikepacking.

How are you getting on? Tell us more….Talk me through that BB; is that two sets of bearings I see? Is the axle a “special” as it’s running in a 90mm shell? How are the hubs?

Re:

Probably should have paid more attention to the Bullseye reference on the .jpg and looked on Bikepro!

Let's hope it's in better shape than my Bullseye BB that I've been trying to resurrect.
