X-lite Tool + Camlock levers

Hello again chaps, I'm breaking my mongoose Iboc and I'm missing the detachable lever bit's off the xlite Camlocks, does anyone know where I can get a replacement set or where I can get a pair made? after all they're only small bars with a screw thead. Also where can I get the 2 pronged tool used to remove the x-lite crank caps? there are obviously ways of getting them off otherwise but they're mint and I'd like them to stay that way.

Any help appreciated.

only way to remedy that problem is to sell them to me!
hehe,seriously,a local engineers ought to be able to thread a bar for you to use as a surrogate lever for the camloks.

im imagining the crank caps are similar to some i had on an a fisher i had ages ago..

i made a tool out of an old fork!

If the worst comes to the worst you can use a small allen key to open the camlocks in an emergency. I wouldn't do it too often as it'll damage the threads.

As far as the crank caps go you could make a tool from a bent spoke. Just bend it into a 'U' and use that.

From what i remember its just an m4 thread, so screw a long m4 bolt in to use as a lever

will get ypu out of a bind till you find some proper levers.

Two bolted end caps/plug, head down to your local hardware store and buy some circlip pliers, cheap as chips.

For the caps I have used a cocktail stick snapped in half with them as flat as possible used both of the snapped ends at the same time to unscrew - push along the grain of the stick not across it so they are strong

It has worked for me but I surpose it depends how tight / how long they have been there :?

Even after destroying a few sticks and having a few atempts, if it gets them out it will be worth it as it wont mark them at all

Cheers for that bud, I've ordered one. The cocktail stick idea was good aswell but they've been on since 1993 I think so many cocktail sticks have died in vein god bless 'em!
