X Lite Titanium Pro - Build Suggestions?

Could be interested in those crank bolts - it all depends on what colour Hope hubs I go with because I'll be getting all the bolts etc to tie in with them.

Blue and titanium is the best combination in my opinion, red just seemd to be such a contrast and a bit shouty compared to the understated titanium.

see the red cranks that just seem to stand out like a sore thumb & appear to me to be at odds with the ti:

I don't like the look of the red forks either have some polished silver Z2's to go on.

I think Blue or Silver Hubs will be my first choice. As nice as red is, I've built a lot of bikes with red bits so it'll be nice to have a change!

My other thought was to go with Mango Chris King Hubs and tie them in with the orange cable outers... Something a little different but obviously not as period..

I think mango would look good next to ti, would need a matching CKHS, ti seatpost and bars makes that colour easy, then it's just trinket bits

I LOVE CK Mango Hubs!

It's just a matter of cost really... I could get a set of lovely Hope wheels, plus Middleburn cranks, plus all the finishing kit, and probably plus the XTR Mechs, Shifter and Brakes for about the same price as the King wheels alone would cost

I'm not sure as to whether its the same as a Torus, its certainly a lt rarer and cooler. Member bikemeister2000 will be able to help, I think he worked for RSP.

It looks to have a canti mount on the back, but i would've thought you would struggle to fit one to the trimnell fork anyway!

Yes, this is the same frame as a Torus. We used IMI titanium at the time, later moving to Timet.

Rex first visited us with an alloy fork with swan-necked stems. We worked together to achieve the production version you have, using local companies for the CNC parts. We used Timken for the roller bearings and held the lot together with a long Ti bolt.

It was designed to take canti's and indeed, should have a hole with a step ferrule in it. The fork ends were sourced from Japan.

That's really helpful, thanks :)

Do you know if bearings and parts are still available for the headset?

X-Lite parts where possible,
Middleburn Cranks - RS7
M95x XTR groupset,

The stem should be this one, in whatever colours you decide to go for:

http://www.sterba-bike.cz/produkt/renthal-x-lite-stem-and-handlebars-268?lang=EN

It's already got X Lite Ti Bars and an X Lite Ti Seatpost, so they'll be staying :) - I want to fit a PSS1 Saddle to it and I'll see if I can get hold of some X Lite Crank Bolts too. I'll be sticking with the dual-stem setup 8)

The rest of the build will be pretty much what you've said - XTR M95x and either XTR cranks or Middleburns :)

Any idea of a rough weight based on it's current spec and the spec above?

Current spec is XT Vs and Mechs, 1st/2nd Gen Mavic Crossmax, NEW RaceFace Deus XC Cranks & BB..

I forgot you wouldn't need the stem, at least that gives me more chance of getting one if it comes up for sale! :p

Mine is 21lb with heavy tyres and all the commuting gear (lights, computer, bottle cage etc) with non of that stuff and light tyres it's 19.2lb.
I imagine your forks are heavier but should be flexy like my RC31's are. What is the equivalent a-c measurement of the fork? Mine is 440mm and find it perfect for me.

I think yours bike will be a bit heavier, but only guessing, you have some good stuff on it! Maybe 22-23lb? If anything I think mine is a bit too light for where I ride (when I get the chance) and it gets thrown around a bit.
I had the same decision to make when I bought my frame, red or blue!
The spec on my link for my Torus is wrong, loads has changed since I updated it last!
