WWII rare pics in colour

So now the people were Stalinist?

Revisionism is very fashionable, but I have not heard that one before.

Next you will be telling me every German was a Nazi.

Tinman,
The yanks didn't beat Japan on their own. Try finding out about the British led campaigns in Imphal, The advances back into Burma/Malaysia.

The Americans saved us. They beat the japanese at sea. I know all about us in Burma i married one. She wishes we had never left.
The land war was not the same as the sea war. With out access to the sea the Japanese war machine on land wouldn't last.

The Japanese sank some of our newest battleships and showed us a thing or two about modern sea war and air protection.

Where the Americans were to late was the war in North Africa. The British Commonwealth won (with a lot of American supplies)

I also wonder what the outcome would have been in the far east had we not had Percival in charge but Slim/Montgomery/wavell in charge.

Agree. Same for North Africa. If Monty hadn't been in charge. Could have been very different.

if hitler had been sane and not a complete loony then his tactics would have been much more successful...the normandy invasion went well because he decided against every one elses advice to keep them elsewhere .....if he hadnt those armoured divisions would have just killed anything that moved...imagine if rommel controlled the army ....

as for the nazi march....i know most germans these days just think ther are muppets but entitled to their democratic right to march ,,,just like the far left do for may years ...germany as a whole is a lovely country ,,,,one or two bad eggs just like the rest of the europe..

Couldn't agree more.
I believe GB & Commonweallth would have won the war even if USA hadn't joined in But kept supplying us. It would have taken longer but we would have won.
Cracking the German codes went a long way to doing this. Knowing what they were going to do before they did it is a big advantage in war.

Not sure we would have tintin, their numbers on d-day were fundamental to the push. The Keep calm and carry on poster showed even Churchill had his doubts as did the preping of uk's secret army - pretty sure they thought invasion was imminent and with our forces spread thin across the world with effectively 3 separate conflict zone we were dealing with meant that the home fight would have been short.

Certainly agree that if the Germans had invaded after Dunkirk then GB stood no chance. But the longer the war went on the better our chances.
Also their was no co-ordination between Axis force. Japan should have attacked Russia so helping the Germans. This would have been better than bringing America in to the conflict.
