I didnt realise there was that many caualties just for normandy attacks!

They lost mind boggling numbers of people in WWII.

But nothing compares to the horrific number of people killed on single days in WWI like the first day of the Somme. Dreadful to think of.

I have made a point, over the years, to visit as many places my family laid down their last time as possible. It is sobering, but totally overwhelming when you consider the same was happening worldwide in massive numbers. Very sad, in the realest and genuine sense.

The total for them is mixed up with the deaths by Stalin. Plus Russia has a lot to thank us.
We shared more info than they did with us eg the fought the new Tiger 1 many months before us but didn't tell us about it or any info on it. Also we supplied them for many years.
