I bought some wheels on a whim as I fancied a hub. Turns out it was a bad idea as its cracked (bet you can't guess the brand), but the rim is something I've never come across before - a world force black diamond.

It's a nice looking bit of kit, deep silver aero rim with logos placed around it, but is it any good? What type of quality and use would it have been/seen?

As the hub is cracked I may try and recoup some losses and sell it on, but if its not worth it, I might return to sender for refunding.

So, what do you know and what are your opinions? I may keep the rim as its certainly interesting, but only if it suits builds, but without knowing what it is and what it was designed for, I'm not sure.

i think they were related to azonic, and were pretty gnaaaaaar in their intended usage.

i may know someone who has a pair. VGC if not NOS.

Cheers, I suspected they may have been more for the dh or at least some heavy abuse riding, but you can never be sure. The fact that it is laced to a hope ti front hub threw me, as I know these aren't for that kind of thing, unless you want to hasten their already certain demise.

I don't think then it would really suit anything I have planned, but maybe it might look good as a front wheel to a tioga disc drive??

Yes it was originally an azonic product. They are tough as hell but an absolute bastard to build as the holes where the nipples sit in the rim dont have a chamfered edge. They either need building with specific sapim nipples which like the rims have an angular contact area or the holes need to be tickled lightly with a drill bit to round off the spoke bed. Built well they are amazing. Built un prepped or with the wrong nips they are shite.
