Work or the lack of it......

I had a meeting with an ex-agency manager turned CV consultant. You would be surprised how little time they give to reading a CV, they will glance over it in seconds if you’re lucky and it gets binned if nothing grabs them. I have the booklet that he gave me scanned to PDF, if your interested in it PM me and i'll send it over. It's quite good and helped me out with my CV and certainly noticed more response from employers and agencies.

Just used this to redo my CV to apply for a local job - I'm shitting myself!

Job is all I have at the moment . Luckily it's excellent . I'm sat on forced holiday at the mo as it runs out in April and starts over for another year . Not in until the 4th and I still have 12 days on top of that to take . Shame I ain't got sh*t to do and no money to do it .

Condense your living down so you don't need much money ; have you ever thought about living in a van ?

*IF i get the job I applied for, I can then cycle to work. Saving lots of cash.

plus, I'll get paid holiday and sick leave for the first time in nearly 5 years.

Gibble.we moved from mid wales (surrounded by trails !!) to find work cos there is v bad,.had a look at currevt employment spots........good in swansea, north of Edinburgh and the middle of Norfolk !

middle of norfolk....were nuts here and still peel spuds with our teeth so i suggest else where...(hahahaha)...i hear there are loads of macdonalds in norwich..must be where the jobs are...

thats what i did and its the best thing i ever did
got laid off feb09 for the 3rd time
now working/living on a touring caravan site
earn more than enough to live on
me and the wife have plenty of spare time (i have even taken up beach fishing  )
dog loves the amount of walks etc
meet lots of new people on a allmost daily basis

only down side is living in a caravan but you soon adapt

Rob

Its a romantic idea.
I've been redundant since May, and the wife just got laid off this week, so we have some "trouble" ahead.
I got no benefits at all as the wife ws still working full time so it seemed almost an incentive for both of us not to work.
Current outgoings are about £1900 a month so we may end up losing a lot. We seem to have way too much stuff to fit in a caravan though.
