Womens Saddles

Whilst I realise that saddle choice is a question of bums on seats I wondered if anyone could give recommendations for a womens saddle which wont look out of place on a retro bike?

Price isnt important but preferably something light and comfortable. The two are hopefully not mutually exclusive.

It doesnt have to be female specific but their sit bones are wider so it isnt going to be a flite carbon :)

So far I've thought of Brooks, Selle Turbo and Vette Gel. Any others?

Thank you in advance!

I've got a Terry ATB Comp saddle you can have for £12 posted. A bit wider for female bones but still looks OK on a retro. Has small marks from fitting and on the kevlar corners from wifey leaning the bike against something.

I'd second a Terry saddle as retro appropriate- I remember them as one of the first womens-specific products BITD, afore the term womens-specific was invented!! :P

Presumably you have first hand knowledge of the pelvic dimensions of the lady in question!

But just to say don't assume that all women need a wide saddle. I use classic Flite saddles and they are really comfortable for me - my pelvis is quite narrow! The most uncomfortable saddle I have ever tried was a Fizik female saddle supplied with one of my bikes - huge "ouch" factor in my case.

My wife swears by her Terry Liberator (the one with the hole in the middle) on her Kona. On her road bike she is trying a new Selle Royal gel thingmy right now. But TBH it looks gack. :?

The Avocet gel lycra covered saddle that FF mentions may be more retro appropriate but at the moment by other half uses these:

Selle Italia ... Leather covered

and

WTB She - modern and cheap, but well made.

When she first started riding she was using one of the gel saddle covers available from Sainsburys and other Supermarkets (£6?) on top of the Selle Italia but doesn't need it anymore.
