Wizard Sleeves

Anyone know if it's possible to reduce or sleeve a 1 1/8th headtube down to accept a 1" threaded headset - if so, how or who?

Problemsolvers (from ison distribution) frame shims then use a 1" headset?

or Chris king devolution or cane creek headset (name escapes me) & shim stem if you want to run 1" 1/8th stem

On my Explosif I run 1" threaded forks with a King devolution then I run a shim over the top threaded part & use 1" 1/8th ahead stem, I would have lopped the threaded part of steerer off but would have been too short otherwise, doh

Hope this is some help

Yes it is, and I've got the shims to do the job......

Edit: sorry, misread the question. I have shims to fit a 1" stem to a 1"1/8 steerer.

Funnily enough I've been looking at doing the same thing, I want to use a 1" quill stem on a Kona frame, I've looked into the Chris King devolution idea, spoke to Bromley Bikes, but this only works with the A-Head system as Chris King do not do the gripnut to fit it, do you think you could just use a 1" grip nut....????

Their suggestion was to run a shim in the head tube, does anyone know if this would work or where to get one made.

Just checked on the Chris King web site and you should be able to get a conversion to threaded for the devolution.

http://www.chrisking.com/headsets/hds_devo.html

"Already have a Chris King headset?
Because Chris King headsets share the same cups, a conversion kit is available to transform your current King headset into a Devolution™. We even offer kits to convert a Devolution™ to a NoThreadSet™, a 2Nut™, or a GripNut™. "
