For winter it's got to be a Buffalo top. Bought mine in '92 and it's still going strong. Different approach to the layer system, and it works. Have a look at their site.

lovign thay you really have got your moneys woth out of that coat,

will take a good lok tat there site tomorrow cheers

I have a 60 quid altura jacket. Its very waterproof and lined so it doesn't get sticky. It isn't as breatheable as i'd like but when you don't pay much something has to give

Aye, only trouble is Boris delivers it personally, and has to make sure it fits............especially the inside leg.........

ANYWAY...............my vote goes to Buffalo too for cold weather gear- my big face shirt is a mere whippersnapper at only 12 years old. :P

Firstly, if you buy cheap.....IT WILL NOT WORK!!!

I have tried it in the past and they all last about 2-3 rides. I kid you not! All jacket will lose the waterproofness after a while so don't be fooled thinking that spending £100's will get you a jacket that lasts.

£99 is about the min to spend to get anywhere near a decent jacket. I have just invested in an 'Endura Event' on the basis that a few mates have had them for about 10 months and they still repel water and 'breathe' I was out last night in the snow with the jacket and base layer on and i was toastie warm and not too sweaty. I would recommend one to anybody. You should be able to shop round and get it for about £140ish.

By the way it only comes in Henry Fords favourite colour!!!

But then i only wear it off road! If you are only going to waer it on the road then spend about £30 next time Lidl or aldi do bike clothing in their speacials!! You don't need the breathablity for road riding.

having borris deliver it in person could be rather interesting, although the inside leg measuring dont sound fun
