Know we've possibly had one or two threads slong these lines before however why not start another.

Currently running vista 64 on my laptop. Runs ok but recently started to creak a bit. Think I need a clean install, soooo, do I reinstall with vista or jump ship to windows 7.

If it is 7 who is doing the best upgrade deals at the mo...

Do a 7 upgrade over top of Vista. All your stuff (for the most part) should stay put.

You'll wonder why you didn't do it ages ago.

Running a laptop on Windows 7. Fantastic OS, it's what Windows should have always been like from the start.

yes it's worth it.

vista was a complete failure as an OS, which is why windows 7 was so soon in coming.

i could go into details, but honestly whats the point get windows 7 installed.

Having extensively used XP and had a brief excursion into Vista and 7.. I would upgrade to 7 in a heartbeat if I had to upgrade or could afford it..

Never had a problem with XP and 7 instantly felt like a 'proper' upgrade to a decent OS... unlike Vista - which felt like damp underpants

Hands down it is the 2nd best current consumer OS.

This post was brought to you from an Apple Macbook running the best current OS

YEAH!! what he said!

but seriously, as idb1 said 7 feels like an upgrade. if you were on xp i wouldnt recommend it as much as if your on vista, but, xp is becoming outdated now so you sort of have too. not that its a bad thing, 7 is pretty good
go for it
