My son has some how managed to remove all the desktop icons. If I drag an item to the desktop it does not appear. I have searched the display settings and can find no clues to what he has done or how he did it. Anyone out there know the answer?

Have you tried right clicking on the toolbar at the bottom? There's another desktop option there too....

Yes bottom bar still visible, so is the Dell doc at the top and the desktop gadgets.

Yup, found that. It lists the desktop icons. Tried dragging them to the desktop and it says cannot copy the destination is the same.

Tried that too. It appears (or not) that the icons are there but not visible. I would ask my son how he did it but he is autistic and doesn't understand the question.

Any chance the screen resolution/orientation/placement has changed?

Not a big PC user (mainly mac) but use a dual screen PC for work so I can have short cuts/icons on both screens if that makes sense.

I would imagine that they are there, i.e. on the desk top just out of site.
