Will i get stiffed by customs for brakes from the states ?

Hi guys been offered a set of mint HS33 rim brakes from california for about 250 dollars, just wandering am i gonna have to pay any additional charges on these when they arrive ? or is it purely pot luck whether they go through or not ? if so any idea what sort of charge i could be looking at ?

20% VAT + £13.50 handling charge, but you might get lucky.

As to overpaying, I've yet to meet anyone who hasn't paid a tad too much for that something special

customs it seems are very hit and miss if they get you, if you use search there are some recent threads on customs charges
