Ah ya learn something new everyday.

Never listened to Radio 4, but I do drive the A50 past Tutbury most days and will be sneaking off during luch to have a look at a big ole hole.

I love R4!!

I'm in Shipping forecast area "Lundy" so it's actually really relevant to me, especially with my job!! 8)

And as I work on my own most of the time then R4 keeps me sane ... so at least I can yell at the radio ... instead of talking to myself!! :?

I have always been a bit worried about the area Dogger though ... don't think I'm gonna be going there any time soon!!

Lx :)

P.s. Anyone else got the book Rain Later, Good? Or am I the only wierdly obsessed one on here? Hehehe!!

edit ... p.p.s I did hear the program earlier about the Thetford explosion ... next time I'm up at my bf's then I'll make sure we go there! Fascinating program, but made me sad too!! So many lives and so long until there was a proper memorial ...

White drug dealers jap car. check
Hoody. check.
Radio 4 on stereo. check.

Yep I love radio 4 too. Every morning I listen on way to work etc.

Detest Radio 1!

why would you want radio 4 in stereo. it just people talking bollox all day. Mono would do? Better than radio 1 which has rubbish pop plus people talking bollox

R4 broadcasts at quite a high quality on FM making any music played a joy to listen as its uncompressed.

When well produced dramas are broadcast this makes for excellent use of sound to make a 3d picture out of a 2d medium.

This was put to good use with feature length stuff such as Nevile Shute's 'On the beach' and particularly atmospheric 'The Birds'.

DAB which we are all expected to use and enjoy whether we like it or not, is a paltry 128kbps and flat. Something else for me to moan about.

128 on DAB is healthier (albeit measly in it's own right) compared with some stations on DAB.
