why does some bacon taste like tcp?

just been to the shop to grab a sarnie and had to choose carefully. they use bacon in loads of there sandwhiches and it tasted like tcp. not just a little bit either. if i ever have to get one with bacon in i spend ages making sure i have removed every last trace. i'm not normally a fussy eater

anyone else experienced the same?

Have no idea. Have to imagine it may be chemical additives to the meat or maybe what is added (if anything) to keep it fresh in it's (also posibility) plastic packaging.

Who knows. There's so much crap put into food.

Aye- it's well worth gettin' nicely cured unprocessed bacon for yer enjoyment- first time I did, I noticed that it didn't shrink to half its size and go cold in eight seconds...............

Do you mean Duchy as in Prince Charlie's organic food company? There's been a fair bit in the media about some of their stuff being not quite as wholesome as it first appears - one of their pies had more sugar in it than a can of coke or something ridiculous!!!! If you can't get your meat from the butcher at least make sure it's british and/or free range, even better organic as well....

stings when you clean a cut with it so it must be good.
