I used to love mince pies, now I hate them, for I find way too sweet, in fact all the xmas stuff is too sweet, stodge and suger but my food at the moment consists of home baked bread and dahl.
I love bread, not the pre sliced crap, but the decide your own size of slice stuff and I got so fed up of going to tesco's to get tiger bread, I found a recipe online and now make my own.
The dahl is excellent too, warming due to the spices I chuck in it, filling, quick to make and cheap to buy the ingredients, and am thinking a veritable super food, as when I make it with soya beans, well, that's the best.
So my dinner today most likely will be spiced dahl, ( ginger, pepper, star anise, garlic, cumin, mustard seed, asafoetida and coriander ) and home made bread with salted butter, just yummy.
I have been searching for the ideal diet for a few years now and I worked out via my metabolism and physique type, plus ayurveda and some blood group hocus pocus I arrived at the fact that I thrive on a complex carbohydrate diet and I do better on vegetarian stuff than meat, so this year has been the change over to what basically is an Asian diet. The result is I don't gain weight and I have loads of energy and do not need to eat all the time, some days I don't even need to eat, yet I have plenty of energy. The other thing is, eat Asian, one eats cheap.
