Whoa White Wicked Bam-ba-lam

My gripe with the grips was just about the color. I think black would look better. I like the red saddle (though an older/less graphic one would be better visually). Then again, I tend to funny color choices :)

I like the red accents on the Chill Pills, etc.

But over all, sweet bike!---and the headbadge and Ho Downs look great on it.

That's essentially a lovely bike. To be honest though, I think the forks are incredibly ugly and ruin the build. I've brought up the [what I see as] bizarre fetishisation of this Groovy stuff on this forum before and been thoroughly flamed, so I'll leave it there.

thanks for all the responses, is it that we don't like tho brand of salsa grips? or the color? same with the saddle....I have a black flite ti, and WTB grips if people think that will help. I also have a black american classic seat post with no writing.

thoughts?

yep… grips, saddle and post. i like the change you propose… i say give it a go and see how it looks. otherwise the rest of the bike is 8)

Second that ^ 8)
otherwise very nice build, love the forks, but I'm biased  they're a nice nod to the old Fat box crown forks.

Nice build. A big "me too" on the occasional sightings of original rapidfires, plenty of people ran them in the day, and then revisionist, thumshifter envy on here, wasn't prevalent BITD. Subject line took me back to gym workouts in the 90s with Black Betty banging out.

Yep, that used to be my bike, it was repainted by Vicious and I commissioned Jen Green to make the very first "FAT" head badge for this bike. Somewhere in the disassembly process when I sent it to Rody I lost that head badge, the one on there now must be a newer one?

Change the grips and the seat and you'll have a REALLY cool bike ;)

the head tube badge is a new one, commissioned about 2 weeks ago...I would highly recommend Jen Green. She makes em in all shapes in sizes for Fat Chance and/or any brand that i know of...I wish I would have gotten a silver Head Badge...but it was more than twice as much.

I also have an regular wicked fork for this bike in black, and I have a bead on a regular white wicked fork too... decisions decisions. I will make the changes suggested by this group and re post when I can...thanks again for the feedback. I think its time to get this bad boy dirty...

Get the white wicked fork, it will probably ride better.

Mine was a Sterling Silver head badge from Jen...I have no idea where it is, I hope it turns up one day.

Good luck with that bike, enjoy it.
