Vintage Pedal Assist

I'm thinking of buying the above Mosquito 38cc engine and converting an old GT just to piss off my neighbour who never stops banging on about his 14,000e Spesh electric...

None legally in the UK since changes to the Road Traffic Act classified them as mopeds and required the riders to have insurance and a licence.
The BSA Winged Wheel was reasonably popular, and the Cyclemotor.

I think the market was more controlled than in Europe though, and given they ended up classed as a motorised vehicle, and would need registering, you might as well just buy a moped.

There was the Raleigh Wisp - produced when the RSW16 production line clashed with Raleigh moped production....

Twiggy used to 'ride' one - despite her wearing different outfits in pictures I can find, they all appear to be on the same piece of road at much the same time of day so suspect that they were part of an advertising shoot. And prior to the helmet laws too.

I've only ridden one two stroke design (briefly at a bike show in Auvergne), but I often wonder what the experience is like compared to a modern ebike (an evil I am long hoping to delay).
