who knows about Orange colours

Just to add some more into the mix, here is the thread for my P7 or C16R purchase many moons ago, note the similarities 'Series 8 Decal', 'Round Bottle Bosses', Rack & Canti Mounts', after much debating it ended up being a C16R either way happy all round and turned out to be a very nice bike. Having had several C16R's I was able to compare and contrast sizes charaterstics.

Have a look and see what you thinK, are there any more similar storeis out there?

Jussa :D

Looks very similar. Seat tube clamp is the same to :)
I have noticed a small rectangle sticker on the top tube near the head tube on the left of the bike.
Writing long worn off so it's just a transparent rectangle. If that means anything to anyone?? Don't think it's a cable rub sticker as they are all on the other side.
Could be anything??
I'm not fussed either way, love the bike as it is. Just curious :).

Re:

Yours was a few months later batch, prime for C16...
But the answer is email Orange then if they still have the dates.

Be interesting to confirm.

Technically what is the difference between the bikes tubing? It's generic rebranded stuff, is one actually heat treated for the P7 or did it loosecall it's prestige-ness.

Are the actually the same frame but with different finishing bits like bosses and reinforcements....
Are they all the same size or is one 35mm and the other 32mm diameter..
I have no idea.

Tru. Interesting to find out :).
I'm gonna see the guy who I got it from later today. I'll see if he has anymore info.
I may email orange later to :)

Re:

Seem to remember the original P7 using oversized tubes compared to the Clockwork/c16. Didn't they say it made for a stronger frame with little extra weight?

Re:

It was an oversize compared to Prestige, I assume they stayed like that through the P7 life. I just don't know the sizes as I have little personal interest in P and C and they're not proper ;-)

Re:

Lol. Propper :).
I'm happy with it the way it is I was mainly curious.
Nearly built now I need pedals an a saddle. But more importantly forks that actually fit lol

Re:

My 91 Prestige has the same width tubes as my 89 Clockwork and I'd put money on them being the same as my old 93 Clockwork and 94 c16. Looking at the picture above, that's a p7. Looking good as well.

Yer I'm pleased with how it's come out. Scrubbed off all the moss and gunk, orange cables and grips an a quick polish while it was just a frame :).
I like it.
Thanks :)
