who knows about Orange colours

Re:

in all honesty i never looked. i have a look a little later, than said since it's now been painted it might be hard to see it.

the white build, people seem to like it. weirdly i prefer the ride of the white one as opposed to the nickel one. they should feel the same but they don't!

This is how it arrived, dishevelled with a seized in seat post.

Re:

As others have said, the rear canti mount rules out a c16 or later Clockwork.

I had one of the very first c16's in that colour, very nice. The chap I got it from wanted a Clockwork but was ordering just as stock ran out before the c16 came along so got his c16 from the first batch. It's true the c16 arrived for the 1995 model year but was available in later 1994 so some will have 94 serial numbers. The p7 first arrived in 1993, not 1994.

As for the colours, orange offered various colours each year. By later 1994 they'd stoped offering the orange/white fade (from memory it's because they took the painting in house and switched to powder coating). I don't think the p7 every came in o/w fade, that's not to say you can't do it though.

But they wouldn't have start of 1994 numbers (March in this case), more likely a June/July date code at least for the 1995 model year release. Otherwise they're hanging around till August/September when next years model and groupset where there.
Unfortunately few seem to state their first 4 digits of the serial when they estimate the year of their bike :( . Would be much easier to build up a pattern if they did.

Re:

c16's wouldn't have but if this is a p7 then late 93, early 94 is no surprise at all. Fits in with the wholesale change to blocky decals and single colour paint jobs. I remember getting the 93/94 brochuer when the 1992 style bikes were still in the shops so p7's were available earlyish 1993.

Hi all (again) I need a favour ;)
I've won a set of P7 forks in chrome off eBay. But they are to short :( :( :(
Does anyone have a set for sale or swap. I need 6,1/4" steerer.
The ones I won are 5"

Re:

I'm unsure how orange painted their frames but going by the cable stop pic on pg 2, it's powder coat!

The barely visible serial number and the way that powder has difficulty coating detailed areas gives it away, Have a look round the welds and the punch-out on the rear cable stop, you can pretty much see the white/silver pushing through, typical powder coat traits.

I could be wrong or even mistaken, but the serial number ought to be plenty readable under built up cellulose.
