well according to my well thumbed 'Penguin Book of the Bicycle' that is the spit of 'Dietrich Thurua' of TI-Raleigh.

According to the interview with him (http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... joe+breeze) he was a committed road man with a first category licence before he became interested in off-road riding and designed some of the first MTB's.

One on the left became the poster boy for 'how boy-band members should pose when having photo taken', one on right became something high-up in weapons design to 'get his own back on all those who laughed at his hat/glasses combination', one in the middle became the only Armish world champion downhill buggy racer. Here is his victory winning buggy and a statue that his towns folk erected to commemorate the great day (think his name was Jacob Tomacson):

A bit to flat chested for me

I've just noticed the drive on the back tandem with the linking chain outside the main chainwheel. Not seen that before. The front one is very like the one I used to race on. Sidepull brakes as well - which are not to good on a tandem when it is raining hard and you're travelling at 35-40 mph!
