Where were you guys?

Had a blast in Fort bill. Unbelieveable riding, and not a retrobiker in sight.

Gary and I went for a ride and got lost together, which didn't bother us too much, but stressed our host pretty badly.

The haggis is pretty good, and so is the 12-year old single malt.

got a minute left on this funky internet cafe so I'nm going to hit send.

I was up there for the World Championships back in September, it's such a great area for biking. We did a couple of the 7 stanes (http://www.7stanes.gov.uk) on the way up.

Hope you had a good time anyway and safe trip back.

Hey CK glad you had a good trip, really sorry I wasn't well enough to get across to buy you some 25 year old malts.... definately my loss, next time you hit these shores let us know.

There seems to be a lot more retrobikes down south in England and Wales but the Scottish contingent is slowly growing I think we've gone from 5 to around 20 this year looking at the map.

CK,

shame no one could make it up. Think it was a combo of relatively short notice and the fact glasgow is a long old drive, especially from the midlands.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Unfortunately my MD was being a real PITA about me taking time off as our only other tech is in Thailand for two weeks so I had to work... :( Really gutted...

Here are a couple of photos from our largely ceremonial appearance at the penny farthing race. When it comes to "retro" biking, we reached some sort of extreme.

I confess to being happy to ride as a consequence of my welcome to Fort Bill, but far more interested in crossing the finish line without injury than in beating anyone. Unsurprisingly I got my clock cleaned.

I'm at centre rear, Gary in his hoodie and Bill Savage next to him.

Sandbagger Fisher took home a bottle of single malt for his effort in beating a couple of city council members in the final heat. Later on someone gave me a similar bottle, so perhaps the prize itself was ceremonial.

Lanterne Rouge

Is that a Spinergy Spox radially laced wheel I see there... ;-)

No action shots to be had of you leading the broom wagon over the finish line then??!!

When are you guys visiting England (or Wales for that matter)??

Mr K

Thats too 'retro' for me. Stopping on bikes like that looks like fun. And doing 'Afan' could be interesting

Sorry, Jamie, I thought you were from the "other" board where I had left a notice. On occasions like these, where a lot of people know who I am, but I get introduced to a hundred or so in the course of an hour or two...

I'm terrible with names, but fortunately I also forget faces. Next time I see you, kick me in the left shin so I'll know you. I've already assigned the right shin.
