Where to ride in East Sussex

Hello anyone from the South East,

I'm going to be doing a little bit of cycle touring on my Stumpjumper in the first half of September down in the Kent, East Sussex area.

Any recommendations for a place to do a bit of mtb'ing up to red grade level in that area.

I have no firm plans but if possible a bit of trail riding would be nice :D

Cheers

VM,

East Sussex - Brighton's got some good riding up behind it. Stamner park and that area are great singletrack. some fabulous (partly sculpted these days) trails in those woods. There are some good woods over towards Esatbourne too, but I've never actually ridden them.

Arundel and over towards Slindon/ Bignor/ Petworth are good for West Sussex.

Basically East Sussex tends to be more open and epic, West Sussex usually feels more intricate and woodsy. Although both have a bit of both obviously.

Drop us (Steve PSD, Klein Chris, Me, Little Bob, Green Rabbit, Chris2Lou and a few others) a line if you are at a loss and we might even take you out on a loop if we're around.

As Gus says. The Friston Forrest near Eastbourne and the downlands behind it offer a variety of single track and good views out to sea respectively. If you let us know dates I'm sure a couple of us could meet up with you.

Nice long circular route over Ditchling Beacon and over to Devils Dyke (just North of Brighton) - if you're fit that is...
