Discounted already -30% from new after season for owner.
Discounted -30% when second owner buys it in 1 year.
Discounted -30% when third owner potentially buys obsolete un-upgradable shit in year 3+
That leaves 10% left. Which equates to selling some used kitchen utensil on Ebay, or the charity shop, or the tip to offload.
I would wait it out. But it will never be retro around here - which is the reference.
This for me at least is just something not to bother with along with all the over produced and marketed bullshit moulded clones with no hope, glamour, nor charisma, nor real real history to speak of.
Get your point. A pristine NOS example may be worthy for a future nerd collector. These will be just at the very best re-purposed for individual Urban transport in time, and will be very disposable at that with a care free rider who does his/her market research for best buy for the buck IMHO.
I had to offload a first Generation Giant TCR - with all the fame of Mike Burrows design, Once team introducing in the pro peloton with style and mopping up team trials etc. It was also in low miles in very very excellent condition.
Reality check. It sold for basically the same as a Taiwan made USA branded very heavy weight touring frame with low grade Reynolds Cro-Mo - under the 200€ mark.
While of course nothing can be too judgemental on financial value alone (but it helps clarity in decision making), for me the picture is clear is where we are and where we are going.
The picture does not involve creme-de-la-creme former road racing bikes unless they are pristine time warped unique hermetically sealed examples that may appeal to only a potential future collector. IMHO.
