When to draw the line?

I'm one of the lucky ones...

11 bikes of my own not taking into account the wifes's and kids' (another 7 bikes).

Wife says "we need to make some more space in the basement"...

The trick is not to count them, or if you must, don't do it when you can see them, that way you can forget about one or two.

I agree... In my garage, is 1.

So I have 1.

Simple.

....its utterly addictive.....get out whilst you can.....im at eight bikes at the moment, luckily i live alone, but my girlfriend has bent my ear for two years to move in with her.....its my only justifiable reason not to!!!

Currently have 4 bikes but just moving house and will have a full on garage and not a little shed so i seem more bike just turning up over the next few months. When the wife says how many bikes do you need? The reply is how may pairs of shoes do you need? That normally shuts here up for a while. At least until strictly prancing crap ends that is. :o

I have 9 Rocky Mountain's.

It all started out innocently when I picked up my first full squish. I missed the hardtail. I picked up an aluminum hardtail bike but I needed a better feel ....... STEEL could be the answer!! Steel was what I was missing so I picked one of those up too ...... but then I thought, “what about a different grade of steel for an even better ride” ....... I better pick up another bike just to be sure.

Hmm I used to ride fully rigid back in the day and I loved it. Maybe I'll pick up one of those fellas too so that I have the all the "feel" I need.

"Wow there's a few bikes kicking around here" and lot of mud in the garage. These are far to valuable to be riding with the kids ......; I know, I'll get another rigid for pulling the trailer BUT it has to have a nice feel or I won't want to ride it.

I hate driving to the store when it's so close and yet so far at the same time but I hate detaching the trailer and the trail-a-bike from that rigid bike that was meant for the kids, just to get milk. I know, I need a "commuter" (even though I work 30 miles from home) I can use that to get milk, ride to the gym; what a great idea BUT it better have a nice feel.

I'm out rolling around on fully rigid, Tange Prestige sweet a$$ ride when I encounter an opportunity to pick up a 1987 Tange Prestige all original and mint condish for pennies. Now I have no use or need for this BUT I want it! So there I am with two bikes in hand. ..........

Fast forward a bit. I'm doing some surfing on the net and spot my white whale. Hmmmm I haven't tried fillet brazed yet. I hear it's dreamy. I’ve wanted one of these since before the chicken and the egg were ever in question. I better grab it.

The cycle continues.

Makes perfect sense. Love your work - keep it up!

How many bikes do I need? Well, I don't "need" any. But I like them.

I have just gone over my self imposed limit of ten bikes. I cannot part with any of them so the logical answer is increase self imposed limit. Next limit should be 15 but it's an uneven number so it's either 12 (one for each month) or a nice round twenty. Can't decide.
