350 million people in the USA and you have a shi#y experience with TWO and make THAT sweeping generalization? I'm sorry you didn't get treated the way you expected, but that still isn't an excuse for making the stupidest and most baseless statement I've seen on the internet in years.

Wow.

Not to mention the 2 billion Chinese people you just assumed would all be crooked....

yes that is my opinion - don't care if you don't like it but it was not you who ended up out of pocket.

I have not dealt with the 350 million less 2 other people in US but know of the small number I have dealt with - on ebay - I was ripped off but too large a proportion. Since then I have not nor will buy from US on ebay.

hmmm, I'm with Utahdog on this one. Your opinion is ignorant, and that's my opinion, but it's more based on fact than yours. How exactly do you think most classic/vintage american bikes got overseas in the first place? Competent USA based sellers/shippers, that's how!

I'm based in the good ole USA; ask a few people how I ship my frames over to the UK and around the world. I assure you, it's not like this, and I'm not alone- many many Americans ship frames perfectly fine.

Is it not just common sense to put some cardboard or bubble wrap between the frame and associated items?

Duuuhhhhh

at the least.

Chris, I'm sorry to read how badly this went for you. I had a bad feeling about that bike and this seller. I believe we spoke about that via pm; I thought you passed on it. Hindsight is 20/20, but there were some warning signals with this one.

Again, sorry it went this poorly. Hope you are able to salvage something from it, and can feel better about it later. I've had a few frames/bikes shipped to me in this manner- not cool, and I've always either got my money back, or a significant discount.

Hate to see this. I'd be demanding a full refund with the seller paying the shipping both directions. You certainly didn't get what you paid for. I've had one down tube badly scored in the past by a front hub axle. I find for the most part that most shippers/sellers understand what it takes to properly package a bike/frame for shipping. Some of the worst one's I've received were actually dropped off and packed at bike shops...duhho
