Or am I missing something? Was it Ringlé who did the original 3DV or Cooks or something, but since then everything that's purple is now called 3DV :?

Tuesday.

Did you not get the email?

''...dear all, from Tuesday, purple will hence forth be known as 3DV, that is all''

I suppose you cant have retro purple as it doesnt quite sound right, hasn't got that edge which we all love to have on our components.... just imagine, "nice purple Ringle stuff there mate...." :D Bit like Titanium being called dull silver.

what does 3dv stand for? maybe its a chmical name/attribute name or simlar (like a nickname)
