When did Klein start being Trek

im half into a 96 XL attitude, its getting resprayed nightstorm mc2 judy forks
etc? its in the USA
This is my unicorn (not the year but im happy ish)
Perhaps I need a slap off one of the Klein experts .
Plus ive never had a thing shipped from the USA?
ARRR im stressin now? what if etc....

What if what? Trek sold it instead of Klein? How many company's are owned by other company's? Would you not buy a s type jag because it's a ford mondeo and you wanted a jag? Some people would say its not a Klein because trek bought them out, I would say its a Klein you own it you like it so enjoy it and have fun

So is your 97 a trek adroit? That's a no then as if it said trek on it you could knock a 0 off the resale. It's a Klein like they say if it smells like chicken looks like chicken and tastes like chicken then guess what.....

Of course they're all Kleins and whatever floats your boat.

But if resell value is your angle i'd advise to invest in pre 96 Kleins.

But hey, its a personal matter. For me the 97 one was Klein enough, its more Klein than a Trek imho (still has the MC2 combo) but it was made during the Trek take-over so i'm well aware that for a true Klein collector it probably wouldn't cut it.

I was going to add that as I would guess your view would be based on the purpose of the ownership. For me I would buy a Klein because I've always wanted one I wouldn't care what year it was made I would be happy I owned a bike I've always wanted. But to a purist I would imagine that it would make a difference especially if it was for show or critique.
I just want one

Lots of input and thanks to those who replied.

Stylus's simple but effective breakdown is probably what I would see as correct for me and targets to aim for. The MTB to compliment my soon to be acquired quantum will be true Klein with no trek influence
