Seems like an obvious question to me, but I can't actually find an answer. I read Campagnolo introduced their first (the first ever?) side-pull in 1968, and Mafac stopped making their centre-pulls in the early 80s, but obviously quite a few road bikes still used centre-pulls for most of the 70s.
I ask out of general interest, but also because I have a nice frame (Nervex Pro Lugs, so a proper road bike, not a 70s "racer") which has the braze-on for the centre-pull cable guide - I guess this means it's probably at least early 70s? (the frame itself is a by a mystery maker, so I can't go off frame numbers, etc).
Any thoughts welcome!
