Excellent suggestions! We're going with Orange's Chicken Balti tonight, but will probably keep trying other suggestions over the coming days. :)

The Patak's Balti paste is quite important. 1 desert spoon might be a little too much, so try a bit less and then add a bit more to taste if needed.

It's this one:

Kwik Prawns and Cream Pasta, cooked in a wok or deep pan.

Quantities variable depending on taste and no of diners - Experiment!

Raw tiger prawns (the large blue ones that entertain by turning pink when cooked)
Single Cream
Pasta of choice (I prefer linguine)
Ginger (real or powder)
Garlic (real or powder)
Chopped spring onions
Parmesan cheese (real is best)
Chilli (option if heat required)
Olive oil

Start cooking pasta in hot water.
Fry spring onions in some oil for 2 minutes with some chilli/ginger/garlic
Add prawns, more ginger/garlic, cook until starting to go pink.
Add cream and heat for 2 minutes.
Allow to reduce slightly if necessary.

Drain pasta and add to creamy prawn mix.
Stir.
Serve in bowls with topping of freshly grated parmesan (which can also be added when cream heating)

Staple in our house when Mrs P is away
Good with well chilled dry white, especially if you've gone with the chilli option

Tonight we're on pork chops with garlic and home made potato salad

Suggest you add 1 bag of fresh spinach leaves to that curry!

Oh yes 8)

We just read that on the jar - next time!

It was a great dish and I think we'll be dining at Chez Retrobike again! Cheers!

Beans on toast!! 3 slices, i always eat this before going out on the bike as it gives me loads of energy, plus letting one rip in the standing position is good for a bit of propulsion
